Roberto Mangosi was born in Velletri ( Rome ) Italy, on August 15th , 1958.
Roberto Mangosi commenced his design career at an early age of 6 years old, winning his first prize in a competition conducted by the Italian Television station – RAI.
By the age of 19 he had begun his satirical cartoon activity.
Then over the next years he matured his painting with oils, very much inspired by the Dutch artists of the 1600’s and winning numerous prizes in competitions for intraoperative art.
He was Art Director and principal cartoonist for a humorist Internet site www.ohmygoodness.com, which became the third largest visited site of virtual cartoons until 2002, with over 3 million hits per month.
His “Crazy Karmasutra” apart from being published in many foreign countries, was also one of the most widely spread designs on the internet.
He also contributed to many important publicity campaigns such as that of McCann-Erickson for the Bipiemme and in 2001 together with Lucio Trojano – who is widely known as one of the greatest cartoonists in Italy – organised the meeting of the Laboratory of Graphic Humour held at the Sistema Bibliotecario in the Roman Hills just south of Rome.
In 2007 he took part in creating “Family Play” for Domenica In” with Pippo Baudo and Ugo Porcelli (the creator of very successful transmissions on RAI namely, Alto Gradimento and Quelli della Notte).
He is artistic director of Hellocrazy, a humoristic site that is the heir of ohmygoodness.com, and also FunnyLabs, a humoristic site used in social communications and in particular for the development of companies, which was achieved in partnership with the Soc.I.Go of Milan company.
Roberto is also the cartoon supplier for the MMS telephone service “Sorrisi” and I-Mode of Wind, as well as Vodafone, TIM and other foreign telephone companies.
In the IT sector he works with the TG1 journalist Pino Scaccia for the on-line program “Filo Diretto” and “Rede Globo” (“Direct line” and World Line”) the most important Brazilian television programms, illustrating articles written by Heliana Dewesee for the on-line editions.
